Building Information Modeling (BIM) is utilized to facilitate a totally inclusive design and construction process for projects of any size and scope. BIM is an innovative initiative taking root in the profession that SKJN takes full advantage of in order to provide clients with integrated and complete solutions to each of their goals. Using BIM software, SKJN can provide services ranging from product modeling to rendering complex project phasing and coordination. SKJN creates a virtual three dimensional model with BIM software that allows each detail’s feasibility to be easily viewed, evaluated, manipulated, and refined during the design development phase leading to an organized and fully coordinated construction.
The ability to efficiently assess multiple possible solutions to any given problem in a virtual environment gives SKJN the competence to design and administer a variety of projects. SKJN has exclusively used BIM software for all projects including industrial and manufacturing facilities, storage facilities, residences, interior renovations, various design proposals, and programming studies. Prototyping a project with BIM forces the determination and resolution of even the minutest integration of different building systems and materials before any ‘ground-breaking’ occurs. A completed computer prototype can then be exploited to produce renderings, product/material scheduling, construction documents, coordination models, and record/archive drawings. This direct extraction of information from the computer model ensures comprehensive documentation of all objectives to be completed; making certain that the scope and responsibility of each discipline involved in a project is clearly defined and presented. By eliminating all inconsistencies in the perception of work to be done, the streamlined documentation process minimizes necessary time and resources needed to bring a project to fruition.
